We are going to talk about important steps to take to start with your own online art/creative business from scratch and making sales from it.
There are so many ways to get started with those ways which I took when I was getting started with my own online business.

STEP 1- UNDERSTAND - where you are in your life, what is your story, where you want to go, it is important to know your story as it will help you in growing your business.
STEP 2- CLARIFY- what are your goals, weekly goals, monthly, annual goals, and long-term goals, and what is your why, why you want to achieve this goal, it is important to get you going in your business.
STEP 3 - EXPLORE- Check on Etsy, Amazon, or even on google what are different types of products people are selling in your industry or niche, do research about different ideas and what you can do more about it.
STEP 4 - PRODUCT RESEARCH- know what people in your niche are selling, read their customer reviews, get feedback related to it, what your competitors are selling at what rate, is the customer happy with their product, you can do that on Etsy, Amazon, what are your unique selling proposition, what is unique about your product that people should buy from you, know that before actually opening up a store. Take your time and go slow with it, don't rush the process.
STEP 5- IDEAL CUSTOMER- who is your ideal customer, for who is this product for, is it kids or elder people, what age group, what gender, are they married or single, are they working or not if they can afford your product or not if it is high ticket offer product.
STEP 6 - OPENING UP AN ONLINE SHOP- you can very well open up a shop on these online marketplaces like Etsy, or Amazon or can open up your own online shop, I would say go for both, open up a shop on these marketplaces as well as they already have the customers, and also on your own website cause you have full control on it, you can use either Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or WordPress whichever suits to you and your need.
STEP 7- BRANDING- it takes time to build a brand doesn't happen overnight so be patient, start with any social media platform be it with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, or even with youtube, see what is your color palette, what is your brand message and it's a voice which is related to your ideal customer.
STEP 8- MAKING SALES- you can use either paid or organic traffic, I would say to go with organic free traffic in the beginning to know well who is your product for and also to understand what customer is saying and how they are reacting to your product, cause in paid traffic if you don't have any clarity then you might waste money in the beginning, later on, you can use paid ads to get more sales.
You can use Instagram DMS as they work well to get customers or Facebook groups where your ideal customer is hanging, can also use TikTok to get more sales and also on youtube shorts too.
